CREATING 3D ARCHITECTURAL VISUALISATION FOR RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

Architectural visualisation is part of the growing arsenal of virtual reality tools used for design, planning, marketing and sales purposes by a range of industries including construction, hospitality and retail.

We work regularly with property developers, architects, interior designers, building companies, local authorities, retailers, marketing teams and film studios on a variety of projects.

Architectural visualisation offers a vision of how a building will look both inside and out, long before its foundations have even been laid. It covers a range of options, including:

  • Basic sketches
  • Flat floor plans
  • 2D animation
  • CGI images (still and moving)
  • Interactive virtual tours
  • 3D animation and film
  • 360-degree renderings
  • CGI animation: This shows realistic images of how the structure will look once completed. It can help people to see the building in its context, alongside landscaping and neighbouring buildings. It also provides a vision of how the exterior and interior will look.
  • 3D virtual tours: Virtual video tours and walkthroughs allow people to view a building in 360 degrees. They can walk around a property and look in detail at features that interest them, swap in different ones that they prefer, or see the effect of different lighting or materials.

It can be used not only to identify potential issues in the construction of the building before work begins but also to assist with the planning process. It is a key, cost-effective tool in marketing the new building to potential buyers or occupiers, allowing people to view a property, retail space or office without having to visit it in person or to see it before it has even been built.

Here, we take a look at the 3D options.

3D ARCHITECTURAL VISUALISATION

Presenting the design of a building as a 3D architectural film or animation provides something extra from 2D drawings. It literally adds another dimension to 2D drawings and plans, bringing a project to life before it is built. Crucially, 3D engages the viewer in a different way to 2D, giving them a more immersive experience and allowing them to step into a virtual world where the structure already exists.

Virtual Resolution has extensive experience in creating all kinds of cutting-edge 3D architectural visualisation for a range of residential projects across the UK, in areas including retirement, housing, student accommodation and the private rented sector (PRS).
