Arena Central, Birmingham
Arena Central is a major mixed-use development in the heart of Birmingham. The 9.2-acre site is currently under construction, and will deliver a vibrant work, leisure and retail space which will have a hugely important impact on the wider local economy.
The development is a key part of the regeneration process laid out in Birmingham’s 20-year masterplan, which has attracted millions of pounds worth of investment to help transform the area into a world-class city centre.
Confirmed occupants of the Arena Central development are HSBC, HMRC and Crowne Plaza, with the construction of a Holiday Inn hotel already completed.
As a contractor on the project, Virtual Resolution worked with developer Dandara on an area of the Arena Central site where construction is underway to create 323 residential apartments. The high-rise development overlooks Suffolk Street Queensway and will stand next to the Grade II-listed Alpha Tower designed by the acclaimed architect Richard Seifert. It will comprise two tower blocks above a floor of shops and car parking space.
Virtual Resolution’s skilled team of creative artists completed a series of CGIs (computer generated images) and verified views to assist with the successful detailed planning application for this private rented sector (PRS) scheme.
Our detailed photo montages are a key part of the pre-planning process for many of our clients, helping to bring a proposed scheme to life. The accuracy of our verified views played an essential role in the supporting evidence used by Dandara in its application to planning officers. It allowed them to communicate their vision for the development, and to show how it would sit within the Arena Central development. It also enabled planners to fully envisage the impact of the development on pedestrians, businesses and traffic within this prominent public space.
